How To Change Tick Speed In Minecraft [2023]

In this Minecraft tutorial post, we will show you the method to change “Tick Speed In Minecraft”. If you are playing Minecraft regularly, then you might have noticed that the ticks in Minecraft have a predetermined pace.

How To Change Tick Speed In Minecraft [2023]

Minecraft’s default tick rate is 20 ticks per second. It indicates that every 0.05 seconds, one tick happens. When you press ALT + F3 in the game, the TPS (ticks per second) figure is shown on the screen. You may change the tick rate from 0 to 256 ticks per second. In Java Edition, the random tick speed is set to 3 by default. The random tick speed in the Bedrock Edition is 1.

Let’s go through the tricks to change or modify the tick speed in Minecraft.

Modifying Tick Speed In Minecraft

Method 1:

You need to open the chat window to do this, If you are using the Javascript edition on Windows 10 then use the letter “T”, and the D-pad on the controller for PS4 and Xbox to access the chat window.

Once the chat window has opened, use the command shown below to change the tick speed.

/gamerule RandomTickSpeed <value>

/gamerule RandomTickSpeed

Method 2:

You need to go to the setting while playing the game to change the tick speed.  Setting Window will open. At the very bottom of the options page, there is an option called “Random Tick Speed.” Click it and enter the new tick speed that you want to use while playing the Minecraft game.

Important Note: Your game will update more slowly if your tick rate is greater.
