What Does Respiration Do In Minecraft and How To Get the Respiration Enchantment in Minecraft?

Minecraft is one of the world’s most popular games from Microsoft. It was originally developed by Mojang Studios and is considered the best-selling video game of all time, with nearly 140 million monthly active users as of 2021.  Mojang and Minecraft intellectual property were purchased by Microsoft for US$2.5 billion. In this game, you need to explore a 3D world with various tools and items, build structures, simple machines, earthworks, and various other generated tools in infinite terrain.

What Does Respiration Do In Minecraft? More Times In Underwater

You also need to fight computer-controlled mobs. To fight with the mobs and enemies, the player has to maximize his armor fully. This is where “Respiration” comes in help as Respiration in Minecraft is a helmet enchantment. Respiration provides an extra few seconds to make the helmet stronger. While playing Minecraft, you might get drowned and if you get drowned, you have to face two losses. So, Respiration helps to reduce your losses as it provides extra few seconds to your helmet and reduces the chances of the player drowning in water. If you breathe on the helmet with respiration enabled, then you have to take only one loss instead of two losses. Minecraft’s respiration helps the player breathe underwater. Without respiration, Minecraft players can hold their breath for approximately 15 seconds only and eventually get drowned.

You can find Respiration enchantment in three levels: I, II, and III. Each level will give you 15 seconds more lifeline in addition to the regular 15 seconds. Similarly, Respiration level II will give you 45 seconds ( 30 secs+15 secs) underwater, and Respiration III gives you 1 minute underwater time ( 15+15+15+15).

You need respiration when you need to explore underwater to collect stuff like prismarine stairs, sponges, prismarine, clay, sand, gravel and etc.

How To Get the Respiration Enchantment in Minecraft?

You need to get find lapis lazuli ores at first. After finding it by exploring the caves you need to extract it. You can use the furnace to extract the lapis lazuli from ores. Now you need to visit the enchantment table to get enchantment powers for your helmet.
