Mbps To MB/s Converter

Mbps To MB/s Converter

Posted on March 19, 2022 By admin

Mbps to MB/s Converter

Mbps and MB/s are two different terms and people often get confused with this term. They both are used to knowing how fast a network or internet connection is. Megabit is always denoted with a lowercase “b,” and megabyte is always denoted with an uppercase “B.”

Mbps to MB/s Converter

In short,

Mbps = Mega bits per second

MBps or MB/s = Mega Bytes per second

1 MBps = 8 Mbps

1 Mbps = 0.125 MBps

Internet speed = Mbps

File transfer speed = MBps

A byte is 8 bits. 1 MB (Megabyte) is equal to 8 Mb (Megabit) per second. If you want to convert MBps to Mbps then you need to multiply by eight. People often get confused with Mbps and MB/s when purchasing an internet package from the ISP. When you are buying an internet package with a speed of 80 Mbps, then you will only get 5 MB of data per second as a byte is equal to 8 bits so the internet speed you see as 80 Mbps can only download a maximum of 5 MB of data per second.
