Insight: Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL)
Microsoft is showing more love towards the open source community as Microsoft announces new Windows subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL). Announcement was made it its annual Build 2019 Developer Conference.
The first version of Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) in 2016. It has been said that the new subsystem will be based on Linux 4.19 LTS kernel. WSL 2 will also support running Linux Docker containers natively, so that VMs are no longer required. Windows Terminal and WSL 2 are both coming in mid-June.
